Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake concept will debut in the Beijing Auto Show in April, the car is rumored next-generation 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door wagon concept edition. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake will have a larger cargo area and will enter the same market segment as the Audi A7 and the BMW 5 Series GT.
The new wagon is a modern version of the shooting brake and even as this car is billed as a concept, it is believed to be very close to the production version.
Powerplants for the next-gen CLS are also previewed by this concept. Expect a turbocharged and direct injected 3.5-liter V6 engine with over 300 horsepower along with an uplevel turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 that puts out around 435 horsepower and over 400 pound-feet of torque. Those engines will reportedly provide a 25-percent improvement in fuel efficiency over the mills they replace and will route power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake concept car will be a combination of coupe and wagon, streamlined, more storage space and strong power.
